Election season means it’s pandering-in-Spanish season: Far-flung correspondent Vidalia pointed me in the direction of some absolutely priceless links she discovered via Very Short List. It turns out that the candidates aren’t just making bad ads in Spanish, they’re commissioning full-blown songs. Herewith, La Cumbia de Clinton, and El Corrido de Barack Obama. Baila, baila, baila, políticos cabrones.

i thought the Obama one was really bad… then i listened to the Clinton one. now i think the Obama one is marginally worse only because we get the offensive visuals.
though i imagine that if hillary’s song had visuals, they’d include some norteno polyester…

The Hillary visuals exist in my head. There’s some short fat guy in a cowboy hat singing on a cheap sound stage with a bunch of bikini girls gyrating around him. Then the Pan Bimbo bear dances around in the background….
